The picture is emerging of a system that has been deteriorating and is in desperate need of rebuilding. Despite their diversity, the interviews present remarkably united prescriptions for change and optimism that we can do better. In addition to examining long-term care itself, they explore how it fits into the continuum of care, the wider implications for medicare, and what must be done now.
