Publication date:Wed, 2013-01-16
The Mental Health Commission of Canada launched a Voluntary National Standard of Canada for Psychological Health and Safety in the Workplace. Linda Silas is participating in the launch and commends the Mental Health Commission and all the project partners on advancing this important work which recognizes the importance of both physical and psychosocial influences on the psychological health of the workforce. Nurses have been advocating for healthier workplaces and workload control for years and we feel that the development of the Standard is a definite step in the right direction toward positive change. The CFNU is now calling on all health care stakeholders to show responsible leadership and take actions now to implement the Standard.
