CFNU Bursaries for 2010
The Canadian Federation of Nurses Unions scholarship fund was set up from a Resolution passed by the general membership at the 2007 Biennial Convention. This fund is intended to assist students in accredited nursing education programs throughout Canada. It is hoped that students who avail themselves of these scholarships will show nursing leadership within their provincial nurses unions.
The National Executive Board accepted that the administration and selection of the recipients will be done by the Member Organizations of CFNU and by the Canadian Nursing Students’ Association.
There shall be ten (10) $1,000 student scholarships awarded each year. One per member organization and one for Canadian Nursing Students' Association (CNSA).
Members Organizations and CNSA are to advise CFNU when they have selected a recipient and CFNU will then send the appropriate recognition letter and cheque to the MOs and CNSA for presentation to recipients.
Any unused portion of previous year’s scholarship funds may be reallocated to the following year’s scholarship budget.
In consideration of receiving a scholarship from CFNU, a recipient agrees to grant permission to CFNU and/or Member Organization/CNSA to publish their name and/or picture.
All CFNU scholarships will be awarded by the Member Organizations and CNSA with full recognition to CFNU.
