Join us for a webinar on the implications for health care of the proposed Canada-European Union Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA).

The federal government is currently negotiating a sweeping new trade, investment and intellectual property treaty with the European Union, which could impact the costs of prescription drugs, procurement practices and the public provision of health care.

This webinar is aimed at public health care administrators, deliverers and supporters.

Presenters:

Scott Sinclair is a senior research fellow with the Canadian Centre for Policy Alternatives, where he directs the centre’s Trade and Investment Research Project. Scott has written numerous books, chapters and papers including Putting Health First: Canadian Health Care Reform, Trade Treaties and Foreign Policy. Prior to joining CCPA, Scott was a Senior Trade Policy Advisor with the Government of British Columbia.

 

 

Teresa Healy is a Senior Researcher with the Canadian Labour Congress, and an Adjunct Research Professor at the Institute for Political Economy at Carleton University. She specializes in health care and other public sector issues. Prior to working in the labour movement, she held academic posts as Assistant Professor of International Relations at Wilfred Laurier University and Lecturer in International Political Economy at Trent University.
